Preparation
- In a medium bowl, gently whisk the egg yolks, milk, and sugar together over low heat until warm, then remove from heat.
- Add mascarpone cheese to the yolk mixture and whisk until smooth.
- In another bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture gently.
- Stir in matcha powder until fully combined.
Assembly
- In a shallow dish, mix warm water with additional matcha powder.
- Quickly dip ladyfingers in the matcha mixture and layer them in a dish.
- Spread a layer of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat the layers until ingredients are used, finishing with the cream mixture on top.
- Dust the top with matcha powder before refrigerating.
Chilling
- Cover and refrigerate overnight to allow the flavors to meld and set.
